team sports
Sam has joined the school basketball team and plays each Friday night. He is number six, photos are difficult as he runs constantly. He is yet to shoot a goal but has become the master of assists, throwing to the experienced players every time he is in the key. He has won a game and lost a game and seems happy with that so far. My favourite part of the night is when we hang around to support the other grade 3/4 team play and I get to watch him walking around the stadium in his uniform with his team mates and a sense of being 'one of the guys'. Priceless.
Oh - and the mixed lollies, sold individually (3 for 5 cents) at the canteen are pretty great too.

what a great photo! Love that everyone else is a blur of action but Sam is strikingly clear and fabulous. Yay Sam!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteAwesome photo! It really is one of lifes great pleasures to see ones offspring in their element. My boys are a bit younger than yours but they love sports and I can see already how important the team spirit is to them.

PS. While I'm here, I actually wrote a big long e-mail to you after your comment on my Coober Pedy Post a few weeks back but went to send it and realised it was a no reply address so couldn't send it. Do you have a follow button somewhere that I can't see?
Good on 'ya Sam.
ReplyDeleteJust end-to-end kicking a footy with Sam makes me think his hand-eye coordination is pretty good for a kid his age.
